O is Obsidian

Obsidian, by Ojastro

Obsidian is a brittle and igneous (made from lava) rock. It is not found in Solano County. To get it the Indians traded with others. It is found in Napa and Lake County. It looks like a black or black with red bands glass. It looks glassy because it is quenched instead of cooled slowly like granite. The Indians used it for arrowheads, knives, and scrapers by being rubbed against rocks so it can take the shape and size for use. It is made of quenched (cooled quickly) lava.
